Casey Goodwin, Assistant Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer, was presented with the 2008 4th Quarter award for “Doing the Right Thing” as a result of his involvement with the Blue Mountain Partners Habitat for Humanity.
Casey has been actively involved with Habitat for Humanity, an international organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing, since Banner Bank donated a home a lot to the organization several years ago. Since his first introduction to the organization Casey has helped several families with their finances in addition to recruiting volunteers to assist in the home building process. Currently, Casey serves on the Board of Directors for the Blue Mountain Partners Habitat for Humanity and is responsible for local grants.
“It is a great feeling to be recognized for doing something I am very passionate about, especially by my employer who got me involved with Habitat for Humanity.” said Casey. “In fact, one of my most memorable experiences with the organization was when Banner Bank employees worked multiple days a week for four weeks to build a home. It made a world of difference for a local family and helped lead the way for other companies in the community to follow Banner’s example.”
In recognition of Casey’s community involvement, Banner Bank has presented him with a plaque, a day off with pay and a $1,000 donation to the charities of his choice. Casey has chosen to give divide his donation among the Blue Mountain Partners Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts of America and the Rotary Foundation of Walla Walla.
