Full Job Description:
Position Purpose
 
Attract and make real estate loans which meet Bank standards for economic value and safety to contribute to the long term profitability of the Bank's operations.
 
Education/Experience
 
  1. College education or equivalent in on-the-job training.
  2. Over three year’s previous experience or demonstrated ability.
  3. Knowledge needed such as office routines, intermediate accounting procedures, operation of equipment such as typewriter, adding machine, calculator, on-line computer terminal and personal computer.
  4. Requires knowledge of general business methods and techniques.
 
Job Requirements/Skills
 
  1. Performs the actions needed to attract desirable loan applications and to select those meeting the Bank's requirements.  The position is involved with residential 1-4 family properties including saleable and portfolio long term together with spec and custom construction loans.
  2. Call on realtors and builders together with bank branch personnel to encourage them to refer potential borrowers to the Bank.
  3. Meeting with potential borrowers and preparing loan applications.  This includes gaining the confidence of applicants, obtaining desired information from them and explaining loan terms.  A favorable public relations result is highly important.
  4. 1-4 family residential real estate loans (including 1-4 family residential land loans) will be originated in accordance with Bank and investor lending guidelines.

SUPERVISOR:    The immediate supervisor for this position is the Residential Loan Production Manager.  Some site related supervision will be performed by the Branch Manager.
 
 
Essential Functions
 
  1. Originate real estate loans as stated above from all of the following sources: Realtor business developed through a structured outside calling program, contractors (both those doing business with Banner Bank and others), referrals from branch personnel, general public through normal business relationships (i.e. Service organizations, friends, acquaintances, etc.), walk in and call in customers.
  2. Once originated, the loans are to be set up in the bank’s computer system and processed through to submission for underwriting (this includes maximum usage of Freddie Mac Prospector).
  3. Seek out opportunities for and provide financing sheets for listings and Realtor/builder open houses. Periodically, be in attendance at weekend open houses and/or subdivisions for loan solicitation purposes (Advance scheduling adjustments will be made).
  4. Attend regular Realtor Association and Builder Association meetings.
  5. Seek out attendance at Realtor staff meetings for product presentation.
  6. When requested, be available for closing signing appointments.
  7. Attend, as required, internal training sessions, internal sales meetings, and external training opportunities as assigned by supervisor.
  8. When required, be available to take applications and/or meet with clients at other Banner Bank branch locations.
  9. As required perform field construction draw inspections.
  10. Other loan production related duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
Physical Requirements
 
  1. Sit 95% of workday.
  2. Stand 5% of workday.
  3. Occasionally life files or boxes of paper up to 25 pounds.
  4. Use computer keyboard, typewriter, 10-key, and other office equipment.
