Full Job Description:
Position Purpose
Sell a full range of banking services and products to individual customers, with an emphasis on meeting customer needs, providing exceptional customer service, and actively soliciting new customers.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma, ideally with college-level business-related classes.
- Two years banking experience in a sales environment preferred.
- One year previous experience in position or a minimum of three months cross-training.
- Completion of new accounts curriculum.
Job Requirements/Skills
- Effective, professional sales skills and techniques.
- Knowledge of all account opening and account ownership verification procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to provide professional, responsive customer service.
- Strong math skills.
- Competent use of computers, calculators, and other office equipment.
Essential Functions
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Proactively sell and refer bank products based on customer needs.
- Acquire new customers through active business development.
- Open new accounts following bank procedures to prevent fraud.
- Service existing accounts and resolve customer concerns in a manner that ensures customer satisfaction.
- Comply with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
- May approve transactions within assigned limits.
- May provide back-up for tellers and supervisors.
Physical Requirements
- Sit 80% of workday.
- Stand 20% of workday.
- Use computer keyboard, typewriter, 10-key, and other office equipment.
- Occasionally lift 25 pounds.
