Giving Back to Our Community

We are enthusiastic volunteers and financial supporters to people, neighborhoods and organizations in every market we serve. From Lake Oswego to Los Angeles, Walla Walla to Wenatchee, Bellevue to Boise, Seattle to Selah, San Diego to Sacramento—and all points in between—you can count us to be a part of what’s important to our clients and communities.

Banner Bank sponsors Habitat for Humanity
Swinging hammers for a good cause
Across our footprint, Banner Bank and our employees support many Habitat for Humanity projects like the Spokane area’s annual Blitz Build. Banner contributed funds and volunteers to support the accelerated build event unique to the Washington city.

Being actively involved with Habitat for Humanity is just one of many ways we live our commitment to the development of affordable, sustainable housing and strong communities.

Banner buddies with community organizations to fight hunger

Last fall, we collected 22,625 packaged food items and $25,812 in cash across our service area, thanks to clients, employees and friends. Other ways we fight hunger include:

  • Crush Hunger Food Truck Event fundraiser for Northwest Harvest in Spokane, Wash.
  • Five garden carts to harvest produce and 24 fruit saplings for the Josephine County (Oregon) Food Bank, which works with 23 agencies to help feed 11,000 individuals a month.

Hitting the tracks and trails for the American Cancer Society

Tennis shoes on and enthusiasm high, Banner employees in Washington, Oregon and California took part in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in their communities.

The team fundraising event consists of a series of individual six- to 24-hour relays at a track or designated path. During the relay, each team must have a member walking or running the track at all times, signifying that cancer never sleeps.

Banner Bank sponsors Northwest area baseball teams
What do baseball, apples and onions have in common? A diamond and Banner support.
The crack of the bat rang out loud and clear in Idaho and Washington, where Banner Bank sponsors local baseball teams.

In Washington, fans of the Yakima Pippins (named for the tasty apple) and the Walla Walla Sweets (after the famous onion) enjoyed discounts on tickets, food and merchandise at home games using our team-branded Mastercard®. Another team we sponsor in the state’s sun-soaked fruit belt are the Wenatchee AppleSox.

On the state’s eastern edge the Spokane Indians, played exciting ball, and ticket package holders enjoyed refreshments in the Banner Bank Diamond Club behind home plate.

At Banner, we actively support the communities where we do business:
