State of Washington Consumer Data Breach
The Washington State Auditor announced a third party vendor data breach of 1.4-1.6 million consumers’ personal information. The breach included information contained in Washington State governmental agency systems, including the Employment Security system (the platform through which an individual files unemployment insurance compensation claims) and possibly additional systems.
The Washington State Auditor indicated the breach may have included individual names, social security number and/or driver’s license or state identification number, bank account number and bank routing number, and place of employment.
As of this writing, Banner Bank does not have specific information regarding specific clients whose personal information may have been compromised. However, if you filed an unemployment insurance claim during 2020, we encourage you to contact us so we can help you protect your Banner Bank accounts.
