Helping a Local Company

Commercial Lending

Partnering with Banner Bank helped this Seattle-based family business expand into a new 130,000 sq. ft warehouse.

It’s a familiar Seattle drizzle as Larry Hou walks from his car to an impressive 130,000 square-foot warehouse. It belongs to the importing company started in Seattle by his parents in the 1970s. And while the building is new to him, he’s known the business his entire life.

My dad’s first location was shared with a trucking company. This place is a hundred times that one. Banner made this big step a lot easier.

The company has enjoyed steady growth over the years, outgrowing several warehouses in the process. So when they needed to grow again, they were surprised at the difficulty they found.

“We were working with another bank and for some reason our loan kept falling through,” recalls Larry. “Needing a solution, we called Banner. Our rep, Christine, worked hard for us, getting us the financing we needed fast.”

The new warehouse means not only more space their current business, but also room to grow for years to come. And through it all their Banner rep, Christine, is never more than a phone call away.

“Christine is so great. It feels like she’s really on our side, like she strives to do what’s best for us.”

But while help with the financing was critical to their growth, it’s the personal service that makes them feel they’re in good hands. “Christine often stops by just to visit, for no particular reason. She’s very personable.”

From picking up the phone when they call to truly working for their success, Larry recognizes the value and partnership that Banner brings.

“I just don’t think you’d get this from other banks.”
