If you have the funds to repay missed mortgage payments, as well as any associated fees and late charges, a reinstatement can allow you to bring your loan current and avoid foreclosure. A reinstatement typically requires you to pay a lump sum by a specific date to become current. Keep in mind that retirement plans will often allow a withdrawal in order to avoid foreclosure on your primary residence.

If you are seeking a refinance keep in mind your loan must be current to qualify. With this option, you receive a completely new mortgage with new terms, interest rates and monthly payments. The new loan completely replaces your current mortgage and may lower your payment, which could help improve your monthly financial situation.

Our loan officers are available to help you determine if a refinance is the right option for you. Find a local loan officer or contact our Home Loans Central team at 866-722-5110, 8 am – 5 pm Pacific Time.

With this option, you spread out your past due amount—added on to your current mortgage payments—over a period of time in order to bring your mortgage current. This option is for short-term hardship situations.

With this option, we agree to temporarily suspend or reduce your monthly mortgage payments for a specific period of time. This option lets you deal with your short-term financial problems by giving you time to get back on your feet and bring your mortgage current. You must show that you would be able to bring the loan current at the end of the plan.
