A message from the Board of Directors

Operating a sustainable business that delivers long-term shareholder value isn’t a simple undertaking, but it is essential to create positive change through our day-to-day business activities, longer-term strategic initiatives and community engagement.  ESG provides a framework for exemplifying and enhancing the meaningful efforts Banner Bank undertakes every day to serve our shareholders, clients, colleagues and communities. 

The Board of Directors oversees the Bank’s ESG Program, leveraging the work of the Board’s various committees. Oversight of the overall ESG Program primarily rests with our Corporate Governance/Nominating Committee, but each committee holds specific ESG-related responsibilities as described in the committee charters, which are readily available on our investor relations website. 

At the management level, Banner Bank’s ESG working group consists of senior leaders representing various departments across the organization. The working group is responsible for promoting our ESG accomplishments and driving forward our ESG efforts. In doing so, the working group considers the interests of all our stakeholders – including our shareholders, clients, colleagues and communities.  

Banner’s approach to ESG is rooted in doing the right thing, not simply participating in the latest trend. Corporate responsibility has always been important to us. Our motto, ‘Do the right thing,’ is much more than a slogan at Banner Bank. It’s truly what we expect of our employees and one another as colleagues. We live by a set of core values which include honesty and integrity, mutual respect, quality, trust, teamwork and accountability in our business activities.
