Banner Gives Contribution Guidelines

We support many positive endeavors in the communities we serve. One way we provide financial assistance is through our Banner Gives grant program. The guidelines we use to help determine if your organization qualifies are below.

Banner Serves grants focus on nonprofit organizations whose activities support areas we believe are essential to the vitality and success of the communities where we operate (Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho) with funding priority to programs serving low- and moderate-income populations.

Requests considered for Banner Gives grants include

  • Housing, especially programs that address homelessness and opportunities to advance affordable housing, such as home ownership counseling and projects creating and/or preserving access to affordable housing.
  • Youth academic achievement, civic involvement, financial literacy (see below), as well as physical and emotional development.
  • Financial education for youth and adults. 
  • Economic development, with greatest emphasis on aiding small business and small farm development as well as lending, workforce development education, and job creation and retention.

Banner Gives grants are not available to support the following:

  • The development or production of books, films, videos or television programs;
  • Individual pre-K-12 schools, supporting foundations or PTA/PTO organizations;
  • Memorial campaigns;
  • Travel-related events, including school trips or tours;
  • Sports, athletic events or programs;
  • Individuals, including those seeking scholarships or fellowship assistance;
  • Governments, municipal agencies or fiscally sponsored organizations;
  • Endowments, fundraising campaigns or debt retirement/deficit funding;
  • Any organization aimed at promoting or discouraging the observance of religious beliefs;

We do not provide funding to any organization that discriminates based on race or color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, religion, national origin, familial status, or disability.
