Teaming Up in Oregon to Preserve History

When there’s a call for help, we’re quick to respond—especially when it comes from the communities we serve. A recent example was joining the effort to protect a beloved historic landmark and regional museum.
It was uncovered that the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum in Florence, Oregon had significant dry rot damage. A foundational part of the community, the museum preserves the rich pioneering history of Western Oregon.
When museum advocates approached our local leaders asking for help, it was an easy ‘yes.’ We provided $7,500 to support the critical reconstruction of the building, with a portion of the funds covering admission so more local youth can connect with stories of the past.
“The museum is a living part of our region’s story,” said Florence Branch Manager Paul Gonsalves, who helped lead this effort. “Supporting its restoration and ensuring access for future generations aligns perfectly with our mission to invest in the communities we serve.”
Supporting efforts that protect and preserve our region’s heritage is another way we demonstrate our commitment to doing what’s right for the communities we call home.
