Newsweek Names Banner a Best Regional Bank in America

Newsweek named Banner one of America's Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions 2024. Newsweek determined the recipients by partnering with Plant-A Insights Group to analyze all regional banks and credit unions in the United States (approx. 9,440 institutions) on a diverse group of criteria and data. 

“Receiving this recognition was a great way to start 2024,” said CEO and President Mark Grescovich. “It is especially meaningful knowing we stood out among our closest competitors and peer banks.”

The methodology included analyzing profitability, financial relevance, risk exposures to financial uncertainties and overall health and stability of each financial institution. The research team then conducted a large-scale independent client survey collecting more than 140,000 surveys from U.S. citizens to review the institutions through their customer journeys on 12 categories using 75 items. Finally, they collected more than 1.3 million social media reviews and 148 million Apple App store and Google Play store reviews to support their scoring model.

In the four states we serve, only four other banks made the list in Washington, two in Oregon, three in Idaho and 15 in California. View the full list and learn more about Newsweek’s methodology.
